An Update on Anglo-Swedish Trade

On 22 November, the BSCC had the pleasure to collaborate with the Swedish Institute of Trade and Law on organising an Update on Anglo-Swedish Trade at Setterwalls’ office in Stockholm. We were delighted to have Sir Ivan Rogers, former Senior Civil Servant from the United Kingdom, share his many valuable insights with us.

Sir Ivan Rogers served as the Principal Private Secretary to Prime Minister Tony Blair and as Prime Minister David Cameron’s Adviser, amongst many other Senior roles. In recent years, he has become a well-known international commentator on international trade and international affairs.

In wake of the Autumn Statement 2023 by the British Chancellor that was released on the same day, Sir Ivan provided participants with an update of the post-brexit trade relationship between the UK, Sweden and the EU. He further explored the underlying factors contributing to the current trade landscape, with a particular emphasis on global geopolitical events. During the Q&A Session following his presentation, Sir Ivan welcomed questions from the audience regarding his outlook on the future of Anglo-Swedish Trade.
