On 1 October, we had the pleasure of hosting a panel discussion on Business Challenges and Sustainable Opportunities at DLA Piper. The seminar focused on the significant changes to the world of business and sustainability emerging from evolving ESG regulations. We had the privilege of listening to three experts in the field, Malin Speace – CEO and founder of Ethos , Claes Bergström – Director Public Affairs & Sustainability at Stena AB and Catharina Belfrage Sahlstrand – Chief Sustainability & Climate Officer at Handelsbanken. The panel was expertly moderated by Marianne Ramel – Partner at DLA Piper.

On Monday 23 September we had our Industry Focus event, hosted by Handelsbanken and with President and CEO for Handelsbanken Michael Green as the speaker. With around 40 members from the BSCC community we all learned more about Handelsbanken and the vision Michael Green has going forward. He spoke about the history of Handelsbanken and brought up what he considers to be the key factors in order to succeed with their business goal. The lunch-event ended with a Q & A where the participants were able to ask Michael questions surrounding many relevant issues.

On Monday 2 September, we had the distinct pleasure of welcoming 200 of our most esteemed members, patrons and guests to Grand Hotel in Stockholm for the Chamber’s 70th Platinum Jubilee event. We were deeply honoured by the presence of our guest of honour, His Royal Highness Prince Daniel.

On Monday 26 August, we had the pleasure to welcome members of the BSCC and the AmCham to our annual golf tournament at Djursholms Golfklubb.  The teams played the eighteen-hole course and stood the chance to win prizes generously sponsored by; Utmost International, NatWest Markets N.V, Volvo Cars, Edrington, Diplomat Collection, Hilton, Sheraton, Pernod Ricard, Amplio Rental and Costco.

On June 13, we hosted the second seminar in our series on global complexities, held in Gothenburg. The event featured insights from Alasdair Ross, Countries Editor at The Economist, Marlene Burwick, Acting CEO & Director of Public Affairs at St1 Sweden, and Hans Pehrson, Head of the Polestar 0 Project, who shared their perspectives on the green transition.

On 12 June, The BSCC and AmCham Sweden welcomed members to an Extended Executive Forum with guests of honour H.E. Ms. Judith Gough, UK Ambassador to Sweden and H.E. Erik D. Ramanathan, U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden.

The Forum addressed the importance of fostering robust international partnerships, with a particular focus on bilateral relations and business landscapes.
