The British-Swedish Chamber of Commerce welcomed all members to the BSCC Annual Christmas Drinks Reception. A Christmas celebration at the British Ambassador’s residence. This was be the first time the new Ambassador addressed the members of BSCC. During the evening the BSCC Annual Award 2024 was presented.

During the last week of November, members of the BSCC Young Patrons had the privilege of attending the British Swedish Summit 2024 in London. This summit offered a thought-provoking and contemporary exploration of leadership, bringing together an inspiring assembly of business leaders, entrepreneurs, politicians, and academics from both Sweden and the UK.

On 27 November, we had the pleasure of welcoming our Patrons to the Annual Patrons’ Dinner, this year at Täcka Udden on Djurgården.

On November 14, the BSCC had the pleasure of welcoming members to the third event on Legal AI, Artificial Intelligence in Practice. Together with Johanna Bergman, Director of Strategic Development at AI Sweden, Magnus Nydén, Executive Director at AstraZeneca, Parthasarathy A, Head of Automation & AI Products at Ericsson, Alexander Hübel, CRO/CPO/CSO at Turbotic, Nasser Ali Khasawneh, Partner at Eversheds Sutherland’s office in the U.A.E. and the Global Head of AI, Sara Malmgren, Partner at Eversheds Sutherland and Torbjörn Lindmark, Partner at Eversheds Sutherland we discussed how AI can be implemented in practice, its potential solution, as well as the risks and challenges you need to be aware of.  

On 11 November, we had the pleasure of listening to Patrick Pearsall and Joann Spadiagm discuss the implications of the U.S. election during a lunch event in collaboration with NatWest and Nordisk Renting. Joann, strategist from NatWest, set the tone of the lunch while discussion the financial perspective of the outcome of the US election. She mentioned tax cuts, tariffs, inflation and she predicted a damping impact on the global economy. Patrick, partner at A&O Shearman, followed by discussing the geopolitical perspective of the election.

On 24 October, we had the pleasure of hosting an insightful event on Strengthening Your Corporate Brand in Uncertain Times together with Groth & Co. Our attendees enjoyed talks from three excellent speakers: Carl Wendt and Anton Persson from Groth & Co, along with our UK guest, Nathan Chambers from Forresters-IP.

On 1 October, we had the pleasure of hosting a panel discussion on Business Challenges and Sustainable Opportunities at DLA Piper. The seminar focused on the significant changes to the world of business and sustainability emerging from evolving ESG regulations. We had the privilege of listening to three experts in the field, Malin Speace – CEO and founder of Ethos , Claes Bergström – Director Public Affairs & Sustainability at Stena AB and Catharina Belfrage Sahlstrand – Chief Sustainability & Climate Officer at Handelsbanken. The panel was expertly moderated by Marianne Ramel – Partner at DLA Piper.

On Monday 23 September we had our Industry Focus event, hosted by Handelsbanken and with President and CEO for Handelsbanken Michael Green as the speaker. With around 40 members from the BSCC community we all learned more about Handelsbanken and the vision Michael Green has going forward.

On Monday 2 September, we had the distinct pleasure of welcoming 200 of our most esteemed members, patrons and guests to Grand Hotel in Stockholm for the Chamber’s 70th Platinum Jubilee event. We were deeply honoured by the presence of our guest of honour, His Royal Highness Prince Daniel.
