Vattenfall CEO attends White House Leaders summit on Climate

Last week Vattenfall’s CEO and President, Anna Borg, spoke at the White House Leaders Summit on Climate at the invitation of President Biden. The main point of discussion, by Borg, focused on how Vattenfall is combating climate change through innovations including hydrogen produced using fossil-free electricity; furthermore, the firm’s strategy to enable fossil-fuel free living within one generation is an ambitious target which was well received.

Another particular highlight of the event surrounded the pace of electrification in traditional industrial sectors- such as through the world’s first fossil free steel project called HYBRIT. Other speakers at the event included French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The summit proved to be highly educational and BSCC Patron, Vattenfall, was the only foreign business to be invited. You can listen to the speech here.
