New Patron: GlaxoSmithKline

The British Swedish Chamber of commerce is very pleased to welcome GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) as a new Patron Company. GSK is a British multinational healthcare company headquartered in London. The company has a long history of over 300 years and engages in the research, development, and manufacture of pharmaceutical medicines, vaccines, and consumer healthcare products. According to Forbes, it is one of the top 10 most valuable drug and biotech companies of year 2020 around the world.

Their Pharmaceuticals segment focuses on developing medicines in various respiratory and infectious diseases.The Vaccines segment produces pediatric and adult vaccines to prevent a range of infectious diseases. The Consumer Healthcare segment develops and markets brands in the oral health, pain relief, respiratory, nutrition and gastro intestinal, and skin health categories.

GSK developed the first vaccine against Malaria, RTS,S, which was approved and endorsed by the WHO for widespread use in children.
