Within the BSCC network there exists extensive knowledge and expertise. We are always eager to share relevant knowledge, news and useful information. This week we are happy to share updates from three of our Patron members EssitySaab and Volvo Cars.

Essity

Essity is the first company in its industry to produce CO2-free tissue using renewable hydrogen. Their Mainz-Kostheim plant in Germany emphasizes sustainability and circularity by transforming recycled paper into high-quality tissue under the Tork brand. The plant produces 152,000 tons of tissue annually.

Saab

During the COP29 climate conference, Saab revealed a new drone designed to combat climate change. Developed by Swedish and Colombian students from Universidad EAFIT and KTH Royal Institute of Technology, the drone will fly at 5,000 meters over Colombia’s rainforests and mountains using electric propulsion. It will be equipped with monitoring technology to support environmental monitoring efforts in the fight against climate change.

Volvo Cars

Volvo Cars CEO  Jim Rowan was recognized on the TIME100 Climate Leaders List. This honor reflects the dedication of the team at Volvo Cars to drive sustainable change. “It takes thousands of dedicated people to drive our sustainability agenda forward, and we are united by a common ambition: to reduce the use of fossil fuels and take the actions required to advance the climate agenda.”
