Healthcare Resilience

GSK

On behalf of The British Embassy in Stockholm and BSCC Patron member GSK we are thrilled to extend the invitation to an exclusive afternoon event on how to jointly prevent and combat AMR and increased healthcare resilience.

AMR is one of the top ten threats to global health according to the World Health Organization. Rising bacterial resistance poses an immediate and profound threat to public health, modern medicine and patients. Sweden and the UK have focused on combating AMR for a long time at a national, European, and global level. The UK and Sweden signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement in 2023 to promote cooperation across healthcare, of which AMR is one of the priority areas.

AMR is a growing concern not only for the healthcare sector but, increasingly, for security and resilience.

In this context, this seminar promises to share best practices.

The discussion will be moderated by Göran Hägglund, former Minister of Social Affairs.

Confirmed speakers:

  • Anders Tegnell, Senior Expert and former state epidemiologist at the Public Health Agency
  • Désirée Pethrus (KD), Member of the Regional Executive Board, Region Stockholm
