Financial Outlook: Susanne Spector | Danske Bank
On Thursday, September 25, the Chamber welcomed members to a financial outlook with Susanne Spector, Chief Economist at Danske Bank.
In a wide-ranging and thought-provoking presentation, Susanne explored the current state of the global economy, highlighting how uncertainty has become a defining feature of today’s financial and political landscape. While economic risks remain, she stressed that we are in a period of caution rather than crisis, with businesses and economies showing strong adaptability.
Key topics included the impact of shifting trade policies, evolving monetary strategies, and the long-term effects of slower population growth. Susanne noted that companies are now operating in a more unpredictable environment—one where investment decisions must account for a wider range of risks and unknowns.
Focusing on Sweden, she pointed to signs of recovery despite a slower-than-expected start to the year. Meanwhile, the UK continues to navigate the long-term effects of Brexit, and the global order is undergoing significant change, from trade relationships to political alliances.
Susanne also addressed how trust in established systems is shifting, particularly in relation to the U.S., and how this may influence future growth, investment, and international cooperation.
We extend our sincere thanks to Susanne Spector for her valuable insights, to Annelie Ulfsborn for her support in organising the event, to Danske Bank for their generous hospitality, and to all our members who joined us for an engaging and timely discussion.
