Within the BSCC network, there is extensive knowledge and expertise. We are always eager to share relevant insights, news, and useful information. This week we are happy to share updates from Intrum, AstraZeneca, and Husqvarna.

Intrum has appointed Johan Åkerblom as President and CEO of Intrum, after joining as CFO in 2024. This leadership transition marks an important step in Intrum’s ongoing transformation, building on its strong position in the financial sector and commitment to long-term growth.

AstraZeneca has invested £400 million to expand its Macclesfield facility (announced May 22, 2025). This major expansion will safeguard 1,500 skilled UK jobs. It is a powerful vote of confidence in the UK’s life sciences sector.  A fantastic achievement for a key member of our chamber.

Husqvarna has announced Glen Instone as its new President and CEO, effective 11 August 2025. The appointment signals an exciting new chapter for the group as it continues to strengthen its position in sustainable outdoor products and innovative solutions. With a strong track record inside the company, Instone is expected to drive further innovation in electrification and smart solutions.
