We are are always curious about the challenges and possibilities our member companies are facing within their industries. This week we are happy to share updates from Intrum and BCC.

Intrum has received a B score in Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), a higher score than the global average as well as among other credit management servicers. This score signifies how Intrum is setting the direction for their industry when it comes to taking coordinated action on climate issues. An achievement that they hope will inspire others to ensure good environmental management by measuring, managing, disclosing and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The UK Government’s energy and climate strategy must not forget business. This is the BCC’s response to the new strategy. The government’s plan to boost green energy production and reaching the 15% energy efficiency target needs more to keep up the momentum. Many smaller firms do not have the capital to become more energy efficient through insulation, renewables and energy management systems – support is needed. But just as important is investment in training a skilled workforce that can accommodate these vital greener business measures.
