Industry Focus with Saab, Micael Johansson, President & CEO

On 18 April, the BSCC had the pleasure of organising an industry focus event with Saab’s CEO Micael Johansson, at their offices in Stockholm.

After discussing Saab’s commitment to protecting societies and openness, Mr. Johansson laid out his strategy of a more focussed product offering and talked about SAAB’s core areas – aeronautics, sensors, and submarines.

The presentation then moved on to the importance of managing talent, and the challenge of retaining and involving young people in SAAB’s innovation process. Innovation and the role that young talent has in it was a central theme of the presentation, and a problem that Saab works proactively with. Mr. Johansson presented the markets in which his firm saw opportunities to expand into, and ended his presentation by speaking on Saab’s close partnership with the UK.

We were also delighted to welcome on stage, Judith Gough, British Ambassador to Sweden who shared her reflections and, together with Micael, welcomed questions from the audience.
