UK – Sweden Travel Regulations

The Swedish Government has imposed an entry ban on UK travellers to Sweden which now only provides exemptions to citizens of other EEA states, those with family ties, workers in selected industries, UK citizens who are holding or have applied for residence status, and a few rarer circumstances. Most arrivals will also require a valid COVID test taken within the latest 48 hours of arrival and the UK Government recommends taking a PCR test once in Sweden too. UPDATE: As of 11 October 2021, UK travellers who can present a vaccination certificate issued in the UK are exempt from the entry ban and the test requirement.

For those travelling into the UK from Sweden, the British government requires a valid negative COVID test within three days prior to travelling. Furthermore, the UK legally insists upon an approved travel test package (which includes two COVID tests to be taken on the second and eighth day) as well as a passenger locator form. If the traveller has been fully vaccinated then they can bypass the compulsory 10 day quarantine on arrival and the expected eighth day COVID test.
