Baker McKenzie Stockholm operations are Climate Neutral

BSCC Patron member Baker McKenzie has collectively worked to successfully reduce their environmental impact, achieve net-zero for carbon dioxide emissions and became climate neutral in 2020. Baker McKenzie’s office in Stockholm has been environmentally certified in accordance with ISO 14001 since 2013. Not only was their office, in Vasagatan 7, the first LEED-certified building in Sweden but it now has also installed solar collectors on the roof to produce comfort cooling and domestic hot water.

The multinational law firm’s changes has resulted in their operations in 2020 having a smaller environmental impact. Baker McKenzie’s voluntary carbon offset is conducted together with an organisation specialising in carbon offsets and climate-related services to businesses. The organisation’s projects are Gold Standard Certified and in-line with the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Additionally, the Stockholm office has invested in two projects: a tree planting project in Panama alongside a project in Ghana to replace wood stoves and thereby reducing both wood consumption and CO2 emissions.
