71st Annual General Meeting

On 21 May, the BSCC hosted its Executive Board Meeting, followed by its Advisory Board Meeting—exclusively for our patrons—where we had the pleasure of receiving an update from the UK by H.E. Samantha Job CMG, the British Ambassador to Sweden. Following these meetings, Kate Orrick MBE, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Sweden, warmly welcomed members to the 71st Annual General Meeting at the British Ambassador’s Residence.

During the evening, we were honored to hear from our guest of honour and speaker, Carolina Björnsdotter Paasikivi, Police Commissioner and Head of the Security Department at the Swedish Security Service. She highlighted the complex and uncertain state of the world, shaped by ongoing conflicts and threats to stability, including the war in Ukraine. Carolina emphasized the importance of cooperation and preparedness, particularly as society becomes more digital and vulnerable to cyber threats. She concluded her remarks by stating that in challenging times, collaboration is more crucial than ever. She also generously answered questions from our members.

A sincere thank you to H.E. Ms. Samantha Job CMG, Kate Orrick MBE, and the entire British Ambassador’s Residence team for hosting such a wonderful evening. We also extend our gratitude to our speaker for sharing her valuable insights and to all our members who attended and contributed to a memorable event.
